Anderson is 6'10" and out here laying out for balls like a libero. Those dive saves were unreal. Absolute class from a veteran still setting the standard. 🔥🇺🇸

Things I noticed from match 2 (the most recent match played) USA: 1. Ma’a will ALWAYS be the unsung hero of team USA while Christenson is playing for the national team. Dude is unreal, super consistent and physical, serves bombs, literally would start for almost any other national team. 2. Champlin is probably the guy for the NT alongside Matty Anderson. Had a good season at Luneberg and will be interesting to see him in Italy next season for a lesser Cuneo team. 3. Still unsure about Hanes. Not really impressed by him. Has his highs and lows but can still be a high volume scorer but with low volleyball IQ. 4. Played infinitely better as a team than in the first friendly. Everyone served great. 5. Rowan and Hartke are the future. Canada: 1. Reception sucked which was the main reason Canada lost. 2. Danny and Howe are probably the guys in the middle without McCarthy. 3. EFL is EFL. Enough said. 4. Honestly like Elgert more than Herr but we’ll see. 5. Xander is great. 6. Canada is gonna be scary with their depth and if they become a team that can pass the ball like in the first friendly 7. Love to see Marr back and would love to see more Varga and see Kaden Schmidt out there Edit: Apologies to Hanes he played amazing against Turkey but we’ll have to see if he can stay consistent throughout the whole VNL; that’s the most important part

Jake Hanes is powerful but he needs to be smarter with his shot selection, in this level swing hard every single time isn’t going to work, anyway exciting to see them play and the youngsters are looking promising, and I agree with the comments about Matt being 6’10 but passing and playing defense is great to watch, not many players can do that being that tall, Ma’A is doing great and Ethan playing decent back row defense as well as his reception, he’s one of the young smarter hitting OH
